    • Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Memorial Service
      Time: 11am-2pm
      Location: Martin Luther King Memorial Garden (Columbia, MO) 800 South Stadium Boulevard Columbia, MO 65201

    The Columbia NAACP will host the annual Dr. Martin Luther King Program. A brief ceremony will be held at the Martin Luther King Jr. Memorial on Stadium Blvd. followed by a motorcade from the MLK Memorial at 11:15 a.m. to Second Baptist Church on Broadway. Upon the motorcade’s arrival, a ceremony will begin at Second Baptist Church featuring Guest Speaker Rev. Everett Gannon of St. Joseph, MO. A free community luncheon will be served following the program.

    • Stephens College Hosts Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Award Convocation
      Time: 4:00 - 5:30 p.m.
      Location: Windsor Auditorium on the Stephens campus

    This year's annual convocation will again recognize individuals within the Stephens and Columbia communities who embody the principles and human values reflected in the work of Dr. King- values such as multicultural harmony, peace, leadership, service and high ethical standards. This year's honorees include: Verna Harris-Laboy, Lorenzo Lawson, LOVE Inc., and Stephens student Miranda Arins.

    • Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Annual Candlelight Walk and Celebration
      Time: 6:00 p.m.
      Location: Douglass High School gymnasium, 310 North Providence

    This year’s event will again feature a Candlelight march from Douglass High School Gym, followed by a service at St. Luke United Methodist Church.

    Celebration Candles will be available for $2.00. The walk begins at 6:30 p.m. Service to follow at St. Luke United Methodist Church, 204 E. Ash.
